Daniel C. Lee, MD is recognized as a highly skilled cardiothoracic surgeon with extensive cardiovascular healthcare leadership experience and a strong record of program building.
Prior to joining LHAAMC, Dr. Lee served as faculty cardiothoracic surgeon and co-director of the Center for Aortic Disease at Baylor Scott and White (BSW)-Texas A&M Health Science Center. As the co-director and co-founder of the Center, in collaboration with Vascular Surgery, Dr. Lee quadrupled thoracic aortic surgical volume, and propelled the program into national clinical trials. He achieved the distinction of being the most productive Cardiothoracic Surgeon at BSW-Temple from 2018 to 2020.
Additionally, his cardiac research has met the high-quality standards to qualify for federal research and industry funding support. Over the course of his career, Dr. Lee has served as Principal Investigator on multiple NIH grants with a record of consistent scholarly publications.
He is a graduate of the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, performed his residency at Yale University School of Medicine, received his thoracic surgery training at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and his cardiothoracic surgery training at Weil Medical College of Cornell University.
