Cancer Patients at Greatest Risk of Contracting COVID-19
In general, patients with blood malignancies (non-Hodgkin lymphoma, chronic lymphocytic leukemia, acute myeloid leukemia, acute lymphoblastic leukemia and multiple myeloma) and those who have received bone marrow transplants, are most vulnerable of contracting COVID-19 because they have immune deficiencies.
Patients who are in active treatment including surgery, chemotherapy or radiation for any type of cancer are also at risk. We are taking all necessary steps to reduce risks while continuing to treat your cancer.
If you are a DCI patient with symptoms and need to be tested for COVID-19, please call your doctor. Your doctor will assess your symptoms and determine if testing is needed.
