About Us

This health education show highlights and explores key medical topics including the latest information available to help you stay healthy. Hosted by Briana Walton, MD and John Martin, MD, the show features live interviews with our medical experts. Afterward, you can meet the doctors and get your questions answered in person.

John Martin, MD

John Martin, MD is medical director of vascular surgery.

Dr. Martin founded the Heart Health Foundation and the Dare to C.A.R.E. program which has provided free cardiovascular screenings to more than 40,000 people in the region. He has developed comprehensive quality and performance improvement programs, training and education, multiple research initiatives and a dedicated Heart and Vascular patient unit.
He received his BS from the University of Texas at San Antonio. He then completed medical school, his residency in surgery and a fellowship in peripheral vascular surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. Dr. Martin is board certified in surgery and has additional specialty certifications in vascular surgery and critical care.

With his leadership, Anne Arundel Medical Center continues to advance our vascular surgery program providing the highest quality care with the latest procedures and technology.

Briana Walton, M.D

Briana Walton, MD is director of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at the Women’s Center for Pelvic Health at Anne Arundel Medical Center. She is a urogynecologist and is an expert in minimally invasive GYN surgery and treatment of fibroids, urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse.

Prior to joining the hospital in 2008, Dr. Walton was director of Benign Gynecology at Washington Hospital Center, an adjunct assistant professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at The Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences, and assistant professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Urology at Georgetown University School of Medicine.

Dr. Walton received her medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and was invited to be the first fellow in the division of Urogynecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery at Harvard Medical School/Mount Auburn Hospital. She is board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
